Just returned from a smashing bank holiday weekend at Martello beach with the family. The weather was OK - not expecting the bahamas! Spent most of the time on the beach and visiting Clacton. We don't get to the seaside much, so it was great to get in the sea with the kids and do the old candy floss and fishing nets malarky. We did manage to make it back for the entertainment which was worth it. Breakfasts were Ok, although I could have done with a bit more on my plate! Overall it was a good weekend, not too much trouble getting there, and the caravan was fine for our needs.

This holiday was the worst I have ever had in my entire life by a long mile. The facilities were below average not to mention the management staff from the pits of hell. The assistant manager that was on duty on the 30th of August came to us at around 4-5 pm with false accusations, extremely patronising approach, racially motivated negative remarks and a very callous attitude. She spoke to our church elders, including my parents in a very rude and patronising manner and she has abused her authority to undermine our group. She failed to listen to what we had to say and her judgement was racially motivated and extremely biased. She also accused us of lewd behaviour, stating that we were taking pictures of ourselves half naked at 1am in the morning. First of all, this is a the most ridiculous and unsensitive accusation I have ever heard in my entire life. We are a Christian group and being accused of this not only insulted our beliefs but has completely tarnished and offended our dignity as women. She has also stated that she has, in possession photos that would confirm this. I believe that this illegal and has violated our privacy. Not to mention that we have children aged 1-13 with us at that time. I found her judgement extremely bias and racist. She has also threatened to evict us that day with no means of transport and alternative accomodation. She has failed to think of the welfare of our children and the health of our friend who is 3 months pregnant, who experienced a lot of stress because of this assistant manager and her evil sidekick. A young, male caucasian who did not help facilitate the situation but was like adding more fuel to the fire. He was the one that insisted on us leaving that day. We are extremely furious of the way she handled this. Our programme as a church was runied because of her accusations and she did not take her time to listen to what we had to say. At one point, she even insisted on us taking the train as she was so desperate to get rid of us that day. We are a big group of 40 people and half of that number are children from the age of 1 above. We were treated unfairly and we felt that we were discriminated against because we were the only Asian family in that campsite. We still have not received any apology from the management and if this is not done in due time, we will be taking legal actions.

It all started one Friday afternoon, for our annual church camping, we have never imagined that it will turn into a holiday from hell!!!!! We were not expecting that the place is not as exciting as they advertised in their website, But we never thought it will go really bad. When the management started harassing some of our members with a complaints from the campers, by accusing us with malicious activities and falsely identifying our people for upsetting the other campers. What’s worse is they informed us that we were being evicted from the campsite on a late Sunday afternoon with no considerations to the state of our people undermining the fact that we have seventeen minor children ages 1 to 15 years old. We tried our best to follow their regulations and have been observing them carefully. But to be discriminated in this manner is highly unacceptable, their procedure of evicting people is motivated and calculated picking us as a target purely because we are Asians. Sadly this is still happening in this modern day. They also threatened us that they would get the police involved, which they eventually did but even the police apologised for the mistakes of the management. In fact one of the night staff even admitted that those day staff involved were new and was just trying to make an impression to the company. Which at that point it is obvious that the management realized the gravity of their mistakes. One of them is The Child Protection Act. In putting the children in any form of abuse and neglect is a criminal act. The management promised to give us an apology which never happened as they did’nt have the decency to accept their mistakes and accept responsibility for their actions. I will not recommend this place to any of my friends as it does not respect race, culture and above all they did not observed human rights as they abused their authority.
